"Identical newborn twins hold hands after birth" Tyra Harris, 5th period

http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/25494516/identical-newborn-twins-hold-hands-after-birth

Summary: Sarah Thistlethwaite gave birth to twin girls at Akron Medical Center. The precious girls shared the same amniotic sac and placenta. Monoamniotic-monochorionic births are very rare and only occur in about one in every ten thousand preganancies. Jenna is the oldest, born at 4 pounds, 2 ounces and 17 inches; Jillian was born 48 seconds later at 3 pounds, 13 ounces and 17.5 inches. They were born at 33 weeks and 2 days, holding hands when delivered.
Analysis: The absolutely warms my heart. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Thistlehwaite on the beautiful twin girls. It's evident that Jenna and Jilian will have a very close relationship. I can't believe they shared the same sac and placenta. What a rare birth! And to come out holding hands! Wow. They will be inseperable.

  1. That is so amazing! To hear that they share such a close bond right from birth warms my heart. With such a rare birth I would love to see how they develop in contrast to other twins.
