Felicia Padilla 5th period: "Thailand's army invokes martial law"

 Summary:
Thailand's army declare smartial law across the area to try and restore order following months of anti-government protests. Officials say that the public does not need to panic about the declarance, and they should go only living their life as they normally would. The military gains military control of nationwide security. The dismissal of prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, which happened earlier this month, created tension throughout the area. There has been a threat of civil war because people are opposed to who has been handed power.Anti-government protesters are refusing to participate in any elections. They want the senate to appoint a new leader and remove the temporary Prime Minister.
Analysis: I think it is good that people protest and make their voices heard when they don't agree with who was in power. If we never protested against something we didn't agree with then we wouldn't be using all of our rights to their full potential.

  1. Eh... this is a bit of a touchy subject. I'm not completely for military take-overs of a government but Thai government has been shaky for the last 7 years. Let's hope this stabilizes them...
