So you have probably heard all about how google is inventing self driving cars, but have you heard about self driving buses? French firm EasyMile has teamed up with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority on a project that will take effect next summer. These buses have already been put into use in Finland, France, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. They don't have a steering wheel, brake petal, or accelerator but they will be added so they can meet California's self-driving handbook.
I think this a very important leap in transportation. It is starting off small with only a few locations using this technology but i can see the near future dominated by self driving cars and buses that could cut wreck percentages down by a considerable amount especially as they continue to improve its motion senses to avoid crashes.
