"Deaths, damage reported in powerful Afghanistan quake" NORA BRACY 5TH

A strong earthquake hit the coast on Afghanistan, and parts of India, Pakistan and Tajikistan, ended in panic, damage, and even death. 12 school girls died in the stampede to evacuate their school in Afghanistan. All the effected countries reported the death toll at about 229, with hundreds of more injuries.

Earthquakes are one of the scariest natural disasters to me. They cause so much damage, especially a 7.5 magnitude quake like this. Plus it always seems to be a domino effect with earthquakes. Remember Japan? Earthquake, tsunami, nuclear disaster? It's also incredibly unfortunate to hear about the 12 trampled school girls. It must have been an incredibly panicked environment. Hopefully all others injured make a speedy recovery, because I'd hate to see that death toll number rise anymore. The earthquake effected that whole region, not just where it's epicenter was. This reminds me of lots of the wars from early America. They never just impacted the country where the initial conflict happened.
