South Carolina Student is brutalized by SRO -Tymie Jadagu 6th P

Summary: A video has surfaced tonight on twitter, and has been mass circulated, and is trending. The video shows yet another African American girl, and a Student Resource Officer, in which the SRO is seen flipping her desk, and dragging her across the floor. It is said she was asked to leave the classroom, and when she refused, the teacher called the SRO officer. She still refused to get out of her desk, and that is when the violence starts. People have began voicing their opinions on the issue, some disgusted by ow she was treated, and others attempting to justify the force used because the young lady featured did not comply. The school district has seen the video, and is now beginning an investigation into what exactly happened, has placed the SRO on leave, and issued a statement claiming safety is their top priority, and that they will get to the bottom of this. His record also shows that he has been sued, and refuted on his behavior with students before in court, but the courts have ruled in favor of him.
Analysis: This relates to US history, again, with racial tensions, and African Americans fighting for the equal treatment we deserve. Lately, there has been more and more of these videos and incidents happening, which should make us call into question the laws and protocol we have in place for officers when arresting people who are resisting arrest or being arrested period. This is also disturbing because excessive force was used on a girl who clearly had no weapon, and was much smaller in size than the officer, and also was peaceful in her protest. Never do you see her attack the officer, or do anything to warrant an attack like the one seen in this video. This case will be added to the long list of police brutality cases featuring African American victims who more often than not, do not end up with justice. This also relates to US history in the fact that deciding whether or not what happened was legal, will be decided by a judge, as designated to the judiciary branch in the list of checks and balances. Hopefully, the ruling of this case will not go like the ones before, especially since this officer has had a history, and a record of brutally handling children.
