Fox Says Black Lives Matter = Nazis - Max Gaddis 9th period

The Fox News host Bill O'Reilly was supposed to be having a civil debate with Keith Boykin and David Goodfriend about whether a political party should align itself with the Black Lives Matter movement, a movement that, he says, calls for the murder of police. Boykin tried to explain that the few extremists in the group of Black Lives Matter don't speak for the whole movement, but O'Reilly then childishly threatens to mute his microphone. After a few minutes of O'Reilly trying to talk over Boykin, O'Reilly cuts his microphone off and hears Goodfriend's facts on the matter. When Goodfriend says that he worries about the safety of African-American children, O'Reilly says, "but would you let an extremist group that acts like Nazis align with a political party," to that, Goodfriend hesitates and says no and repeats that they have not called for the murder of the police as a group and proceeds to read that very statement off on an official statement from the DNC. O'Reilly then turns on Boykin's microphone so that he can make a final statement which turns out to be, "The Black Lives Matter movement is not the Nazi Party. It's an offensive suggestion to make that comparison, Bill, I'm outraged that you would say that."

Why O'Reilly decided to act like a 5 year old who was told they couldn't have a toy is beyond me. With an Irish sounding last name he should be more concerned about minority affairs. Fox has always been the joke of news stations, but the fact that the producers did in fact cut Boykin's mic instead of just ignoring O'Reilly shows that they are probably on his side or too scared to stand up for the more mature option of forcing O'Reilly into a mature debate. Even when GoodFriend tried to defend Black Lives Matter O'Reilly got upset so Goodfriend backed off a little.

There have been many times where people spoke over others, and I can't think of a specific instance right now, but slavery and The Rush for Africa was the Portuguese and other Europeans forcing their will over an enormous amount of people in one continent because they thought they were right and they were better.
