The six story parking garage at the Renaissance apartment complex collapsed a few days ago, entrapping many furious residents cars.

Analysis: This is quite surreal for me, as I know many of the people that live there. This collapse can be directly correlated to the collapse of the Articles of Confederation. Much like the articles, the garage collapsed because of a very weak foundation. For the Articles of Confederation it was a weak government, and for the garage it was obviously weak engineering. The Articles suffered from a large economic deficiency due to the inability to tax, and the garage failed due to the lack of money spent on the building that instead went to lavish apartments. Overall, the Articles led to disrespect of America, and this collapse of the garage will likely lose the Renaissance some of their pride and respect as well.
