"Alleged School Shooting Plot Foiled in Virginia" Tea Perez 1st period

Police in Virginia said they've stopped a planned school shooting attack. Authorities announced at a news conference Saturday that two Riverbend High School students were being held at a juvenile detention center for the conspiracy to commit murder. "Their plot," said County Commonwealth Attorney Bill Neely, " was to phone in a bomb threat and then shoot people as they came out." Police said that their plans had started two weeks ago. They initially arrested and charged a 17-year-old male student for threatening violence over the internet. After this, an investigation then uncovered a 15-year-old boy who was linked to the plan as well.

Gun violence is now starting at a young age. In the report it said that these two students had access to the weapons they said they would use in the incident. In these cases, guns should not be as easily assessable so the incident that would of unfolded if these two individuals weren't caught. http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/25/us/virginia-school-shooting-plot-foiled/index.html

  1. It is sad and scary that gun violence is starting to come into the younger generations, Guns should not be so easy to obtain, but banning them or putting more restrictions would do nothing, if people wanted to harm others they will find a way and not consider what the law says anyways, the public needs to know how to protect and defend themselves.
