Sanders Urges Verizon to Resolve Local Labor Dispute
By: Tristin Manus 8th
Summary: Vermont senator Bernie Sanders orchestrated a labor dispute involving Verizon today, urging the telecommunication giant to provide a fair contract for 39,000 members of the Communications Workers of America. The Democratic presidential candidate joined Verizon workers at a protest outside a Verizon Wireless store near Times Square. Sanders defended a union official who says she was fired after organizing Verizon Wireless stores in Brooklyn, New York. Bernie explains why these contracts should be made. "You've got corporate America making huge profits, their CEOs getting huge compensation packages, and then with all of their money what they do is hire lawyers in order to make it harder for workers to survive in this country," Bernie explains to a crowd outside the Verizon Store. Sanders has cited his support among many under paid union workers and advocated for a $15-an-hour minimum wage and a single-payer health care system to make it easier for workers to join unions.
Analysis: I believe Bernie Sanders is what America desperately needs. He is the key to make productive decisions to make America an successful country. He reminds me of Abraham Lincoln, for his advocacy of the Black Lives Matter Movement , and his favor of the people personality, and moral common sense. He would be the perfect president but now he is the underdog. Bernie Sanders slays my existence.
