Naplam Girl Recieves Treatment Alexis Williams

After years of pain the girl from the iconic Naplam Girl picture is recieved treatment for her sarring. Her real name is Kim Phuc and she was a big symbol for the Vietnam War.Though her burns aren't visible in the picture you can still see the pain and fear on her face. 40 years later the scarring is still there along with nere damage from the burns. She says they're painful to look at because it reminds her of the past. She was reunited the the man who took the picture Ut won the Pulitzer Prize for it. They are very close and continue to stay in touch. She calls hiu uncle. She is finally given a chance to heal which she thought would never happen until the day she died.
Phuc is the girl in the middle.
Phuc who is now 52 has began a series of laser treatments that are said to improve her scarring and nerve damage that sh's been having all these years.
This event reminds me of the 60s when there were lots of social issues going on with police brutality, racism, and gay ights. People wanted the president to stop U.S. involvement in Vietnam. so many soldiers were dying and yet we still had problems back home. This picture symbolizes that not only was there pain on ou end, with numerous U.S. citizen dying, but the fact that their people suffered as well.

  1. While violence in America was definitely prominent, I don't think that we can forget about where the worst actually took place. There was lots of unnecessary violence in Vietnam, and American blood committed unspeakable crimes in Vietnam.
