Julia Plummer "Mother of Oregon Shooter"

Recently the mother of the individual who opened fire on people inside a community college in Oregon, opened up about the family's home life. She said that despite having a troubled child, who would sometimes resort to violence in order to relieve his frustrations, she still kept various firearms in their home. Apparently, she knew that he had an expansive knowledge of these weapons and how to use them, but never imagined that he would resort to something like this. Additionally, this man's father claims to have no knowledge of him owning over a dozen firearms, and says that loose gun control laws are part of the reason this terrible thing happened.

I agree with Mr. Harper, it should be much more difficult to acquire weapons such as these. They shouldn't necessarily be outlawed, because that creates conflicts as well, but there should be a stricter and more demanding process that people should go through if they want to purchase a gun. So, the 2nd Amendment wouldn't necessarily be changed, but it would make these situations a lot less likely and less dangerous.

being able to own and use a gun legally should be just as difficult as being able to drive a car legally. training, classes, practice times, and a test to see if the person is able to handle it. This is exactly why we need restrictions!
