Donald Trump tells Fox News the following-- "The fact we had the worst attack in the history of our country during his (George W. Bush) reign. Jeb (Bush) said we were safe during his reign. That wasn't true." CNN says that Trump has been a bit foolish when it comes to things like Mexican immigrants and President Barack Obama's birth place, but they agree with him on this.
On the surface, Donald Trump's statement can be seen to be agreeable. But in all of hindsight, Bush had no control over the 9/11 terrorists. Whether or not he did pay more attention to the attacks in 1998, how was he to know or control the horrific events involving the 9/11 plane crashes. Any president could say that the country is safe under their control, but how are they to know whether a terrorist attack is upon them? 9/11 was a huge turning point in American culture--as in the fact that it strengthened New York as a community and re-established America's nationalism as a whole.
