Seanelle Higgins: Such a Huge Discovery in Antarctica

Summary: Recently,  scientists have discovered something alarming in Antarctica, and it isn't a giant penguin. On the Nansen Shelf, an ice shelf in Antarctica, a huge waterfall has been discovered,  indicating an alarming melting rate of the arctic ice. Scientists predict that with our rising temperatures, it is only bound to get worse. Temperatures have risen seven degrees in the past years, and any more can cause substantial strain on our environment. Warming ocean waters are eroding at ice sheets so crucial to our ecosystem, but until further research is done, scientists cannot be fully alarmed.

Analysis: This is a very scary situation that is going on in our oceans. Especially under administration that doesn't believe in climate change, our environment is in big, but trouble. We are at great risk of losing trees and or oceans rising. Until we stand together and help our environment, we are turning or backs on the very thing that supports the needs of our everyday life.

  1. It is sobering to see how the earth is suffering. There should be more research into global warming, its causes, and what we can do to protect the environment so that we can be effective stewards of the earth.

  2. This is just another alarming fact that the earth is warming which most of the world can agree on but many still deny.
