Rachel Bozalis - Trump may not build the wall

In recent funding plans Trump has released, it has been revealed that the wall across the southern border has not been included. Trump promises to build the wall in future plans but for the time being plans to just step up border control and its funding. One of his major plans to "make America great again" is to build the military by increasing spending and to increase national security by building the wall. The wall, however, has created much tension in our government, therefore creating apprehension about building and even discussing it as it could lead to a government shutdown. For the time being, border control and national security related spending will increase with the possibility of constructing the wall remaining unknown.

I, personally, sincerely hope that this wall is not constructed. The country was build on principles of welcomeness, openness, and opportunity, and building said wall will physically set ourselves apart from the rest of the world and therefore these principles. Keeping compromise is key in my opinion and I think that increased border control can be a helpful attribute if approached in the correct way. 1. I hope the wall isn't built either. That truly does not solve any border problems. Plus, the wall would need to go completely around the US.
