Mold at 2 Hospitals Linked to 5 Deaths- Emma Lochabay

Found at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centers, mold has been linked to five deaths of patients. The mold was found in the linens, causing mold-related-infections since October of 2014. The hospitals have been sued by the families of the deceased for millions of dollars. It seems that all the cases included the patient undergoing an organ transplant when the infection entered their body, ultimately killing them.

This article was published on January 28,2017 by CNN, a popular and trustworthy news source for people all around the world. I can trust that this news source will have no bias. Before reading this article, i have not heard of this horrible situation. This story is important because hopefully all other hospitals can learn from it and history wont repeat itself. This could synthesize to the general idea that hospitals commonly make medical mistakes leading to deaths of patients. Hospitals are where people should feel safe but if situations like this one become more common, that will soon not be a reality.
