GOP senators present Obamacare alternative Maggie Gibson

After numerous complaints by the Republican party in particular about the results of Obamacare, two republican senators introduced something to replace Obamacare, which will apparently give more power to the states on health care policy and increase access to affordable insurance for millions who are currently uninsured. However, the basic gist of the proposal is that any state that likes Obamacare can keep it, or they could opt for no federal help. It's not clear what the Republican party thinks about the bill this early on.The possibility of interfering with the original Obamacare law could cause instability in insurance markets, causing prices to go up or coverage to go down. The Democratic party representatives are loudly objecting the new proposal, stating that by allowing states to keep Obamacare or not would be unfair to many families who simply lose healthcare coverage based on unfortunate location.

This is one of the many changes the Republican majority in the senate and the new Trump presidency could bring about. Though Trump frequently brought up the issues and problems with Obamacare and he swore up and down that he would fix it, but the exact method of doing this he didn't iterate. I think that the Cassidy-Collins bill, the one just presented, won't pass or be heavily amended before being passed, hopefully guaranteeing every American equal access to health insurance.

  1. It is unfortunate that a good common solution can't be made. It seems that they are more eager to repeal the law than make it better.
