Gracie Darlington: Starbucks pledges to hire 10000 refugees

In response to President Trump's travel ban, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz released a memo saying that Starbucks will hire 10,000 refugees over the span of the next 5 years in the 75 countries the company does business in. Schultz also emphasized Starbucks's support for President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, "which helps undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children get driver's licenses, enroll in college and secure jobs". In addition, Schultz mentioned that if any new taxes, immigration restrictions, or trade sanctions are put in place, the company is "ready to help and support our Mexican customers, partners and their families" if need be.
This article was written to inform its readers of Starbucks's new policies regarding Trump's new travel ban. Many other businesses have also taken action, and some tech executives have denounced the ban altogether. Many of their partners, employees, and customers are in the countries named in the ban, and it hurts their business. This article remained very neutral, only providing the facts.
This can relate back to the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 which restricted the rights of immigrants.
