Florida is kind of going off the deep end. By Rachel Almquist

Now, this is not directly related to politics, but I believe this is something worth sharing...
Apparently, a 14 year old girl from Florida is being charged with murdering her newborn child. The girl, Cassidy Goodson, gave birth to the baby in her bathroom and strangled it shortly after giving birth.  She is being charged with first degree murder and child abuse.
My first thoughts were WHO IN THERE RIGHT MIND GETS PREGNANT AT 14, HIDES BEING PREGNANT FOR 9 MONTHS, KILLS THEIR CHILD, THEN LEAVES THE FETUS INSIDE A SHOE BOX IN THEIR ROOM. I don't even want to understand what went through this girl's head, but all I know is that it is ridiculous that no adults in her life kept a better eye on her. It's not terribly hard to tell who is pregnant and who isn't.. Even though this girl is a straight up fool, I don't believe that she should be the only one being punished. The adults in her life deserve whatever sentencing the girl is getting as well. If they hadn't done their jobs as being parents, and raising their own child, maybe the life of another one might have been saved.

  1. I think this might just be one of the saddest things I've ever heard. Besides the incredibly greusome mental image it gives, it just shows how much one bad deciscion can ruin your life. I just feel really sad for this girl. She's so young and this is just terrible! I mean, yeah, she's 14, that's ridiculous. But teenagers will be teenagers. What adults want from us is to not have sex at a young age, which is reasonable. But it's just not reality for a lot of people. This is why I believe teenagers should not only be fully educated on this, but be fully informed of all of their options...birth control. I see why some people might have a problem with birth control, especially if you're a religious person. But would you rather have a girl take birth control, or her get pregnant and kill her baby like this girl in Florida? And this certainly isn't the first instance like this. It's just sad and something needs to be done.
