spain's center left socialist party won sundays general election while the far right party will enter the country's parliament for the first time since dictator franco in the late 70s. the far right vox party, which is centered around immigration and gender rights, won 24 out of a total 350 seats in the parliament after emerging back into politics last election. the center left socialist party took 123 seats in the last election and hopes to unify a divided country. spain is currently the only country in western europe that has never been govorned by a government coalition, though recent years have seen minority governments shored up by parlimentary alliances. as in several other countries in europe, the far right has gained popularity while traditional policies are fading.
