With fanfare and the world watching at Times Square and the Nasdaq to name a few, today NASA successfully landed another probe on Mars. "The Insight" is the 8th probe to land on the red planet. Only 40% of the missions have landed without incident. Launched on May 5th, the Insight will spend two years investigating below the surface of Mars. Prior missions since 1965 have studied the weather, geology and surface chemistry. But the Insight will study deeper issues. It is believed many generations ago, Mars was a planet that could sustain life. Hopefully this spacecraft will give us vital information not only about our sister planet but about how we can best take care of Earth.
That’s so exciting! To live during a time when new technological advances are in place to allow us to discover new places, is absolutely amazing.
