Former President George HW Bush is dead at age 94. In his life, he was a WWII hero, two-term congressman, ambassador at the UN, US envoy to China, CIA director, and Vice President under Ronald Reagan. He and his wife, Barbara, had six children. He is most known for his work with foreign policy and was credited for overseeing a smooth transition after the fall of the Soviet Union. He suffered from Parkinson's disease. He was the United States' longest-living president.
This is important because the United States is saying goodbye to a man who spent his life modernizing politics. It relates to history because his presidency had important things about it -- Persian Gulf War, fall of the Soviet Union, Americans with Disabilities Act, etc. He is an important part of modern American History.
But he did 9/11

DeleteIt's so sad that we lost such a great and important man. He did so much for this country especially when we were lacking the strength to stay together. I hope people will remember him for lifetimes, and understand his importance to this country. - Joziah German
ReplyDeleteRegardless of anyone’s political views, this president put our country first and did everything with the best intent.
