Avery Corley: The Bottomless Pinocchio

Fact checkers for years have been using a system of rating called the "Pinocchio" which tests a politicians actuality in his or her's claim or statement. Usually if a statement is simply and utterly false then the fact checker will call the declaration to be a level 4 Pinocchio. However, with Trump being president the Washington post has had to come up with a new level of Pinocchio called the "Bottomless Pinocchio". The bottomless Pinocchio is used when a political figure has said a false statement more than 20 times and denies the claims flaws and, Trump definitely qualifies. President Trump has made over 86 claims that the wall that is supposed to separate American borders from Mexico has started the process of being built, which exceeds the number to qualify for a Bottomless Pinocchio. Trumps said the false statement that Democrats culled with the Russian government at least 48 times, has accused Special Council Robert S. Mueller of conflict of interest 30 times, has said that the economy has never been better under any other president 99 times, and my absolute favorite: Trump said that he created the biggest tax cuts in American history for a total of 123 times. The list of Bottomless Pinocchio's goes on and on for a total of 14 false statements that president Trump has continued to say at least 20 times.
