5 Arrested in Haltom City -Angelia Perez
Five robberies have been reported in Haltom City and North Richland Hills since Thursday. The Police have arrested five men who have been thought to be connected to the robberies. A clerk who was wounded by a gun shot when a man walked into Mr. Convenience demanding for money and then later fled in a red BMW. The police later found the vehicle abandoned in North Richland Hills. Five hours later officers were called to another robbery at Carson Food mart and four men fled in a car but crashed the car. The police arrested 17 year old Bryan Rodriquez after the chase and his bail has been set at $500,000. Over the weekend police arrested 4 more teens in Thursday's robberies and were all booked in Tarrant county jail. Francisco Moreno,17, was charged with aggravated robbery, possession of a controlled substance and engaging in organized criminal activity. Edgar Meza,17, was charged with aggravated robbery, engagement in criminal activity, and unlawful carry of a weapon, and a possession of a controlled substance. German Navarette also 17 was charged with aggravated robbery, engaged in organized crime, and evading arrest. Martin Chazarreta,18, is charged with aggravated robbery, engaged in organized crime, and marijuana possession. Police also arrested other teenagers on drug charges but it is unclear if they were involved with the robberies.

This type of conduct is rather tragic to me, as it makes me wonder the psychological factors that would persuade a person to commit such criminal and reckless acts. They may be robbers, but they’re just kids. I wish that they didn’t feel like they had to choose this path.
