Anna Speer-President GH Bush passes away

The 41st President of the United States, George Herbert Bush, passed away at the age of 94 at his home in Houston, Texas on Friday November 30, 2018.  His death came a short 8 months after his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush, died.  President Bush had been in declining health and battling a form of Parkinson's disease that required him to be in a wheel chair or scooter the last few years.

President Bush had dedicated his life with over 40 years of service to our country. At the age of 18, still in high school, he enlisted in the Navy and flew as a pilot in World War II where he was shot down but fortunately survived.  From there he was a congressman, an ambassador, CIA chief, a Vice President and finally the Commander and Chief. He is know not only for his victories but also his losses.  He is the last of the moderate politicians who attempted bipartisanship. With his passing along with John McCain, we are left with the Republican and Democratic parties never seeing eye to eye.
