Obama: 'This was an act of terrorism' | Jillian Linnear P.8

The following article is about an address made by Obama saying that we will overcome this act of terrorism but not abandon our virtues whilst doing so. Throughout the speech Barack Obama constantly reminds the the viewers that ISIS does not speak for all muslims, but only a very small part.

I believe that this speech was most definitely set to inspire the American people and help us come together. What Barack Obama did was very different from what many other political leaders/presidents have done. Instead of trying to provoke us to take matters into our own hands, he simply reminded us that yes we must fight back but also realize that ISIS is only a small division of a faith that not all follow. This article is very relevant to our current situation because it lets people see the big picture. I'd say this is immensely important to us because not a lot of people think about how many American muslims help support us throughout the day, the first thing they think of is "terrorist" which, is not right.

  1. Tristin Manus 8th- Obama is truly trying to be proactive about this situation, giving logical and moral explanations to back up his argument.

  2. That's so nice because that's very impotant. Many people think ALL Muslims are terrorists when that os not true at all.
