Eternal Debt: 1 in 5 Americans Expects to Die in the Red by M'Lynn Musgrove

Despite the American economy's slow rise, individual debt still haunts many. About 1/3 of the country believes they will not be able to pay off debt from student loans, resident downpayment (ect.) until the age of 70. Reports say that about 80% of our country hold some sort of debt. This affects people of all social classes. Most people targeted are somewhere between 30-50 years old.

I think this is an extremely important problem that may be considered taboo in many households. As a 17 year old girl about to be thrown out into the "real world",  I had no idea of the gravity of american debt. If only 20% of people are debt free, there is an obvious problem.
