Tristan Spohn 3rd Period

Schools in the district of L.A and New York received very similar electronic threats, however reacted to those threats in completely opposite ways. The campus' in L.A. decided to close school down, while New York claimed it to be just a hoax.
Analysis: This reminds me significantly of the issue of slavery in the North and the South. In both cases, their very clearly opposite viewpoints that were heavily influenced by region. In L.A., the article informed that a terrorist attack had already happened only 60 miles away, whereas that was not the case in New York. Similarly, the environment of the South was much more different than the North, causing a much more different viewpoint on the matter. Essentially surrounding have a monumental impact in the way we perceive things.

  1. Thats a good point connecting the different responses to what region they are in. I find it strange that New York didn't do anything about the threat.
