France Vows to Take Refugees
After the Paris attacks in November, France has vowed to take 30,00 refugees from countries like Syria and Afghanistan. Originally, France was only going to accept 24,000 refugees due to security risks. Since the attacks, leaders in France gave questioned the motives of refugees and if they should be allowed in the country. Eventually, they came to the verdict that "France will remain a country of freedom," as said by the country's President, Franois Hallande.
The events in Paris were ridiculously tragic. My heart still remains sad for those who had to experience the horrible occurrences. I have much respect for France for being able to pick itself back up and still have acceptance for all the people in the world, despite their 'threats' or 'risks'. This way France has picked itself up reminds me of the reaction to 9/11. Although I was too young to remember, I know that 9/11 is very significant to United States' history and is the ultimate display of patriotism. France is experiencing the same and I'm glad to say, that even in tragedy, they handle themselves graciously and have the love and respect from countries everywhere.

  1. That's so generous of them to allow refugees even after everything that has been happening in Paris!
