On Monday, The Supreme Court uplifted the ban on same sex marriage in five more US states. Same sex marriage is now legal in Virginia, Utah, Oklahoma, Indiana, and Wisconsin. This unexpected legalization from the Supreme Court is a major turning point in American history and is very likely to spread to states across the country after today. States such as Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina are the states in which the ban on gay marriage will be lifted in the near future. The Supreme Court has realized that these bans are unconstitutional, and it is working on making the change to more states across the nation.

ReplyDeleteI do in fact believe these bans are constitutional. It is not an infringement of freedom. what we are dealing with is the issue of definition. what defines marriage? well marriage was created as a union between a man and a women. They are not advocating for equal rights; they are attempting to redefine marriage and reorient the moral compass by which it is governed. It is not unconstitutional to uphold a certain set of morals that may prevent certain people from doing whatever they please
