"Was arrested teen on his way to join ISIS?" Alex Norton 4th Period

19 year-old, Mohammed Hamzah Khan, attempted leaving the U.S. to join Isis. He had bought a plain ticket and left a letter for his family about where he was headed and inviting his family to join him, but he never made it to his destination. He was stopped by federal agents at the airport and they got a search warrant for his home. They found plenty of evidence to convince the judge to criminally charge him. The charge he faces carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

This goes to show how we underestimated ISIS. They are people living in our country that support ISIS and even want to join them. This is a huge threat. I'm afraid that if we don't get the situation under control soon... we could start having terrorist attacks inside the United States.

  2. There is a threat and sometimes we just don't want to admit it, because its terrifying. I think it would be wise to take extra precaution during this time, because you never know what could happen.

  3. I think we would all be surprised to find out how many supporters of ISIS and other terrorist groups there are in our country
