Hong Kong police charge leaves protesters injured - Lizette Ayala
Early Sunday morning, police in Hong Kong clashed with protesters gathered at barricades in the northern district of Mongkok, after nearly three weeks of largely peaceful pro-democracy rallies. Some demonstrators had to be carried away on stretchers after being repeatedly struck with batons; which resulted in head injuries, fractures and bruises. The police later came out with a statement saying their officers used "minimum forces" as the protesters "attempted to charge their line of defense" out of no where. However, the protesters suggest that they had done nothing to provoke the outburst of violence from the officers.
The incidents that are ongoing in Hong Kong have a striking resemblance to the Tiananmen Square Massacre of 1989. It was a student led demonstration in Beijing against China's political leadership. The protesters were forcibly suppressed by hardline leaders who ordered the military to enforce martial law.The crackdown initiated between June 3-4 as troops with assault rifles and tanks harmed unarmed civilians trying to block the military's advance towards Tiananmen Square where students and other demonstrators had occupied for seven weeks.

This is typical riot stuff. Riots are clearly volatile situations and can get out of hand easily, Im sure they're were faults on both ends
