Last weekend near the University of California in Berkley a party went down at a frat house. At this party an anonymous tipster informed the police that five people were slipped a common date rape drug known as "roofies" and then were sexually assaulted. While the police are still investigating they are looking at it as an "alleged" sexual assault, for as far as we know, none of the people assaulted have come forward to speak about it.
Like the frustrating laws of old imposed by England, there wasn't much you could do about it, besides sit home and complain to yourself. Add this, nothing coming of your putting yourself out there because most college campuses take the guys side, to a crushing weight of humiliation and lack of self-confidence. And they wonder why rape victims don't come forward with their stories. Whether or not the victims come forward the police should do everything in their power to make sure this wasn't true, or if it was that the rapists are brought to justice for their sicking acts.

The acts that were committed are honestly disgusting...
ReplyDeleteWith all the date rape drugs out there nowadays, it seems that no one is safe. This article is a good lesson in explaining how careful people have to be when they go out.
