Baylor Frat President Was Facing Up to 20 Years in Prison for Rape. He Won't Serve Anytime.
by Miranda Levingston
Summary: Jacob Walter Anderson was going to be charged up to 20 years in prison and $10,000 fine for accounts of rape that happened at a frat party in 2016. He however won't serve any of that time and will only be paying $400 and won't have to sign himself up as a sex offender. The Victim had accused Anderson after she was taken to the hospital to have a sexual assault exam after the incident took place, this however didn't serve enough evidence to send Anderson to jail. Baylor had been in light again after the 2012 incident when a girl accused 8 men of gang raping her.
Analysis: These incidents are what also took place after Brock Turner was also accused of rape but only went to jail for 3 months. These type of incidents show how much the movement of being able to speak about your assault is going backwards. If a woman back in 1900s accused a man of rape the woman would have the blame thrown on her. This shows how much of the mindset we have now and how little we've grown since then.
