Kareem Hunt is 23 and one of the best running backs in the NFL. On Friday, a video was found of him. The video was taken in February, and it shows Hunt assaulting a man and a woman. Right after, he was cut from the Kansas City Chiefs. This interview includes a clip of Hunt apologizing and Tom Goldman and Alisa Chang talk more about the incident. Back in February, the Chiefs did know about this incident, but Hunt had lied about it (that he later admitted). Since the NFL knew, the interviewers are confused as to why they didn't do anything before. Were they just protecting one of their best players? Or were they just too slow in getting in contact with the victims?
This is a tricky situation. Trying to find proof of them knowing beforehand and having the ability to do something about it is hard. In history, events that relate to this in a way have definitely occurred. Many cover ups have happened! Things like the Credit Mobilier Company stealing from the Pacific Railroad Company and selling stocks in order to cover it up.
