Utah fears thousands infected in hepatitis C outbreak after exposure to hospital nurse (Paisley Norburg P.5)
In Ogden, Utah, at Mackay-Dee Hospital, seven thousand patients were exposed to the outbreak of Hepatitis C. They were exposed coming by coming into contact with a former nurse who had been infected. There has been free testing to find out the results that half of the seven thousand have the disease. Symptoms of hepatitis C can lay "dormant" for decades. Now the final tally of this infected, won't be released until probably February or March.
This is scary because, just by coming into contact with someone, this disease already had so many people infected. It's important for us to stay aware and always sanitary. Just like that, so many people could be effected.
So scary! Especially from a nurse, who is around so many vulnerable people.
