Women shot outside of a bar

Saturday morning at 2:30 a women was shot outside of The Patio Bar in the north Oak Cliff area. The police say that someone opened fire outside in the parking lot after a fight in the bar. Witnesses told police that a fight broke out inside the bar between two groups and then the bar staff escorted the two groups of people out of the bar. As one of the men, involved in the fight, drove away, he fired shots at a women. This is all the police know, the women did not have an ID with her, so they have no identification yet.
This incident reminds me of the temperance movement in the 19th and early 20th century. The temperance movement was mostly organized by women at the effort to moderate the consumption of alcohol. Most of the women who supported this movement had experience of over consumption by their men. Also during this period, alcohol was blamed for many of the society's crimes and problems. The article doesn't state this, but I am assuming that these two groups of people in the bar had been consuming alcohol and may have had a little too much which led to the fight. When people are under the influence of alcohol, they have no control of their actions which then could lead to an incident like this.
It's such a shame that somebody's numb, clouded judgement took a precious life. I liked your synthesis to Temperance and I think it displays an accurate example of a reason in favor of the movement.
