This is a report of a woman who had severe PTSD from serving in an intense coast guard job, and a parrot providing her with therapy. Lilly love was at Veterans Administration medical center trying to receive treatment, and nothing was quite working. They had her on many psychiatric drugs at a time, when she first saw parrots at the facility it was almost like a mirage. Love now cares for the parrots each day, feeding them and even rehabilitating some.
If love would not have found these parrots, she may not have ever received healing. The parrots and love received healing together, and from each other. This reminded me of Dorothea Dix, and I figured she would be proud of this progress.
