Blizzard shuts down NYC travel
Adrianna Martinez
A huge blizzard struck the East Coast dumping more than more than three feet of snow. The blizzard has caused major traffic on highways, delay of flights and closing travel in New York City. The blizzard has caused 14 deaths from North Carolina to New York. Meteorologists have stated 18 to 48 inches of snow could be possible in some areas. Mayor de Blasio believes this snowfall could rank among the top five accumulations in recorded history. The blizzard is causing serious trouble in North and South Carolina because it created almost 140,000 power outages. The storm's winds has also pushed ocean water into New Jersey's barrier islands and displaced 50 people from their homes. This event is similar to a blizzard that lasted 3 days in March 1993 that left 20 inches of snow from North Carolina to Vermont.
It's crazy to think how much snow that must be! I keep seeing pictures of NYC with the streets pretty much deserted because you can't drive there. And it's so dumb that at the same time, it's like 60 degrees here in Texas...
