On Sunday morning, 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit Alaska. The earthquake struck about 162 miles southwest of Anchorage, near Cook Inlet, and was about 50 miles deep.
Professional photographer Joshua Veldstra shares his reaction to the quake. "When it hit, it was just soft at first, and it just kept getting bigger. It was one of those moments where you didn't know if it was going to get worse or if it was going to calm down."
Luckily, there were no reports of major damage or injury after this event. Two smaller earthquakes with magnitudes of 4.0 and 3.2 struck within 30 minutes after the first one.
Natural disasters like earthquakes etc. have been an issue throughout the world's existence. History books tend to overlook natural elements that effect developmental issues. Harsh winter weather effected the Plymouth
Colony, and many died during their first year of settlement.
Kenley Turner 3rd- It is extremely unfortunate when natural disasters occur. Especially to places in such remote areas. its harder for help to arrive.
