Period 1
East Coast blizzard
East Coast cities attempted to dig themselves out of snow and ice on Sunday, January 24, after a massive blizzard. Flooding remains a concern in cities like New Jersey, where high water floods multiple cities along the coast. The Long Island Railroad remains down after it ,"sustained significant damage during the storm," as said by New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo. Residents in cities like New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore are advised to stay inside.
The storm in the East Coast has hit record snowfalls, like the like the 31 inches of snow at the JFK International Airport. The storm also included record breaking winds, similar to those in an hurricane. In the past, the East Coast has been known for its intense and fierce storm that wipe out cities and towns for hours or even days. My thoughts go out to all of those who may have to brave the ice tomorrow in order to get to work. Weather has always been extremely interesting to me, so I have been following this storm for a while. Hoping the temperatures rise and the ice and snow melts.
