Recently, a police officer was sitting in his cruiser when a man dressed in white opened his door and shot him. This man claimed to be doing this for Isis, proclaiming that his allegiance lies with the Islamic state. The officer acted quickly, despite the fact that he was in severe pain. He called in for backup, and told them he was bleeding heavily. The culprit was found trying to escape, and was shot. The mayor of Philadelphia, soon after this event, said that this was not an action relating to Islam, and realized that Islam is a peaceful religion.
I am happy that the mayor acknowledged that the attack contradicted Islam, because there are many uneducated people that would take the shooting as an opportunity for prejudice.
This relates to apush because the KKK preached violence and racism, contrary to their Christian beliefs. Similarly, the man claimed to be killing under the law of Islam, when in reality Islam contradicts his actions.

That's so goo that the mayor has not made this about how Muslims are evil and how they're the enemy because a lot of times many people have done that.
