University of Cincinnati to pay $4.85 million to family of black man killed by white police officer - Ari Robinson, Period 3
University of Cincinnati to pay $4.85 million to family of black man killed by white police officer
Summary: A 43 year old black man, Sam Dubose, was shot dead last July 19th. He was pulled over by the University of Cincinnati police for missing his front license plate. As he attempted to drive away, the officer shot him through his open window, rendering him dead. The officer claimed to have been dragged, but a headcam video shows that he lied.
Analysis: Though almost 5 million dollars is a lot of money, it is not the value of a life. Nothing equates to losing a life. This is yet another video documented episode of police brutality.
