Following the events of the San Bernardino shooting in California the debate about guns is once again has come front and center. While most attention is on congress we don't talk about our universities. Most universities don't allow guns on campus for pretty obvious reasons. In fact when a very contraversal campus carry law was passed here in texas it came at the opposition of almost every public state with so many immediately try to restrict the extent of this law. Now following San bernardino one college has went in the opposite direction. At liberty university a christian non-profit college in Virginia the president made an announcement from the president at there weekly convocation. Instead of warning about guns on school he encourages them and ask students to bring there guns to campus. Which is met by applause from thousands there. On top of anti-gun regulation rhetoric he went on a tangent saying "I always thought that if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walk in and kill". These comment are extremely unfounded inconsiderate and offensive. These comment personally reminds me so much of what people like trump have been saying and is just crazy considering he's supposed to be an educated man. We honestly haven't seen this kind of anti-muslim rhetoric since 9/11 and it's sad that we have so quickly gone back to it.
