"New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival crowd sets fires, throws bottles" by Alex Norton

At Keene, New Hampshire's 25th pumpkin festival riots broke out. Students of Keene State and other outsiders rebelled against the police. They started fires, threw glass bottles everywhere, and destroyed cars. There were many injuries and multiple ambulances had to be sent out.

According to the article, violence is a consistent problem at the annual pumpkin festival. Really? A pumpkin fest? Ms. Townsel showed my AP Lang class a video that included the fact that Georgia had requested a tank because they expected violence at an upcoming pumpkin festival. Obviously people, specifically college students, like targeting pumpkin festivals... this is concerning. (face palm)

  1. A pumpkin festival seems like a slightly peculiar place for riots... The month of October is supposed to be filled with fun halloween parties and haunted houses, but not real violence.
