Dog found two years later By: Ruby Aguilar 5th period

Nika appeared at the front door of a home in Florida, more than 1,000 miles away from her home in New York.

This dog, named Nika was separated from her owner. Giuseppe DiBella,
Nika's owner, reported Nika lost two years ago. The strangest part I would say would be that Nika was lost in New York and ended up being found in Florida; thanks to a microchip that was what was able to get the owner and his dog together again after two years, 1,000 miles away.

I loved this story because it shows how some people truly never give in finding what they are looking for, thankfully in this case the microchip helped a lot. Can you imagine how it would have been if we had microchips in the past or some other kind of way to be able to find loved ones easier. Like throughout slavery, what if you could track a relative down.

  2. Unless I am wrong, I heard that there was a microchip that allows you to put it in someone, like your child, and if something ever happened to them, doctors could scan it to receive medical and health insurance information. I think that it is one of the great inventions of today's time but I don't think I would like a microchip in me...

  3. That's interesting how the dog was found thousands miles away but, it's great that the dog made it back to it's owner.

  4. It would be easier to find people who are microchipped, but that power could be easily abused and could also be considered an invasion of privacy.
