Nia Edwards-4th periodMonster truck crash kills 8 spectators

Current Event #6

On October 7,2013 Catherine E. Shoclet and Nelson Quinones wrote this article about a Monster truck crash in northern Mexico. According to the governor of Chihuahua, the driver may have been intoxicated before he drove in the "Extremo Aeroshow." A total of 28 of the spectators were hospitalized on Sunday--"12 of whom were in critical condition." Eight people were killed during this deadly crash, 4 of which were children. The mayor of the city has ordered an investigation and for the mean time the Extremo Aeroshow has been suspended.

This event was extremely unfortunate. Badly enough eight people were killed but among the eight there were four children involved. It is so sad that while trying to have a good time, something tragic happened because of someone's ignorance and people were killed. Driving while intoxicated is a terrible thing and I can't believe that anybody let alone someone performing in a driving show would do it.  I hope justice is served and that this man will get what he deserves. I'm glad that this Extrremo Aeroshow is suspended until further notice.
