Protesters For a Boy killed by Calif. deputy Montana Dalton 2nd

There were hundreds of protesters that marched Tuesday to protest the unforgetting fatal shooting of a 13-year-old boy. Even worse by a Northern California sheriff's deputy. Results of these actions consist of an FBI Investigation.

The protesters consisted of not only adults but middle- and high-school-age students and members of the Occupy Oakland movement. They marched through the streets with signs and hooded sweatshirts bearing photos of the boy.

Apparently this deputy mistook a pellet gun carried by Andy Lopez ( the boy that was shot ) for an assault rifle.

REFLECTION

Even though it was NOT AT ALL Lopez's fault, this shows how realistic toys and games have became as industries advance.  Its upsetting to think a cop would've even mistaken a toy for a rifle!

This is tragic. I don't believe public officers are not being trained well enough..or don't take citizens lives very seriously. I agree with you on toy companies making very realistic looking toy guns. However, the deputy should have handled this manner a different way that wouldn't have resulted in the death of an innocent teenager.

  2. I completely agree. I don't think Lopez was at fault in this case, but it goes to show how careful people need to be when carrying toys because of how realistic they are. The deputy should not have shot him so quickly.
