This Monday morning, as kids were ready to start their day in Sparks Middle School Nevada, a peer had shot a teacher, wounded two other students and then shot himself. The reason behind the shooting is still unclear but this adds on to the past events this year that have been dealt with guns in schools. A little under a year ago, the horrible shooting in Newtown happened killing 26 young and innocent children. The shooter took their parents semi automatic gun, arrived to school, and ended his life there after destruction. The teacher he killed seemed to be trying to help him put the gun down, but it didn't work. The police are still trying to clear things up.
This is really sad. Another awful incident has taken the life of innocent people. This young kid, probably not much younger than 15, shot a teacher and then killed himself. Is it the video games he's playing, is it the tv shows he watches, is there un-stability at home, maybe bullying? Who knows, everyday we watch news, read the newspaper, and there's nothing but death and violence. Is it reaching to the youth of our country literally?

I think you have a really interesting opinion regarding why the student did it. I never thought of it that was but it makes alot of sense.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Joan, I find it interesting how you consider the different reasons why this could happen. Your analysis is sufficient and I have sometimes wondered the same things. What is the world coming to? It seems that every other day I get a new CNN alert on another shooting that has occurred. It really just goes to show that life is short and you never know whether you will live to see anther day. No one ever thinks they are going to go to school and never return home, but its a possibility. It really is tragic, and I hope that this trend does not continue like it has.
