A middle school teacher was shot and killed this morning while he was shielding students from an armed boy at a middle school in Nevada. The boy with the gun was killed, although no one is sure how, and two students were wounded from gun shot. The family of the killed teacher identified that he was a former U.S. Marine named Michael Landsberry. He was called a 'hero' by the Deputy Police Chief Tom Robinson at a news conference. The shooting took place at 7:16 a.m., a "time in the morning students are arriving, buses are arriving, the walkers are coming in through the gates outside. Kids are congregating...," said a Washoe County School Fistrict Chief of Police named Mike Moeras.

Wow! This is a very touching story. That man really showed his bravery by shielding students and putting their life before his own. He deserves to be called a hero.
ReplyDeleteSchool shooting are always heart wrenching to hear about. However it is inspiring to learn that such good people exist that would risk their own lives to protect the lives of others who are not even family. Definitely a hero.
ReplyDeleteIt's terrible to see that there just seems to be more and more gun violence in America lately. Hopefully new ways will be found to solve this issue in the future. It was very heroic for that man to protect his students!
