Summary:
This week inside Bally's Hotel and Casino, one man was killed and two security guards were wounded from a shooting that took place in Las Vegas around 5 AM. The suspect is said to have asked the security manager for a refund for the cover charge because the club was not full enough. The gunman, Benjamin Frazier, then shot the security manager in the arm and wounded another guard as other people attempted to disarm him. The Las Vegas Review Journal says Frazier has a violent criminal record, while police also state that he is being treated for head injuries after security guards subdued Frazier at the club. A man who was trying to help was killed by Frazier's gunshots. Benjamin Frazier will be staying at Clark County Detention Center after his release from the hospital.
Analysis:
This article written by John Bacon for USA Today discusses a recent tragedy on the Las Vegas Strip. Prior to this the Strip experienced a shooting and explosion last winter. It's unfortunate that this popular tourist spot must experience violent crimes like these. A man who was simply trying to help and stop the gunman this past week was killed. It's tragic that this innocent man was killed due to Benjamin Frazier's outburst. Hopefully violent events like this on the Las Vegas Strip will come to a stop.
